Magneto is LIVE in 3D!

The group (Elaine, Luc, Olivia Schuler) has built a metal laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) system. Quan has been performing experiments on copper in 2D but today the printer is now live in 3D!

Elaine, Luc, and Quan printed our first 3D structure today, a humble stainless steel cube!

Additional thanks to Phil DePond (Advanced Manufacturing Lab at LLNL) and Jason Pastor ( MEAM machine shop at Penn). Elaine built Magneto, the software that controls the printer (also dubbed Magneto) completely from scratch in C#.
